Pension Gabriela is a newly built, family-operated pension, open the whole year round. It is located in a pleasant environment in Tatranská Štrba, at the feet of the High Tatra, one of Slovakia's most favourite tourist destinations. A couple minutes' walk from the pension is the bottom station of the cog-wheel train that takes visitors up to Štrbské Pleso, a starting point for tours and hikes into the whole region of the High Tatra. The environs of Tatranská Štrba offer varied opportunities for sport and relaxation. The greatest tourist magnet is the Tatra mountains, where hikers head for the numerous trails. Trails with various degrees of difficulty offer beautiful views of the mountainous landscape and sightings of rare fauna and flora. Further to the east, rafting down the Dunajec River on traditional wooden rafts
offers an unforgettable experience. Several limestone caves are located in the region as well; visiting them is an excellent alternative activity for the occasional rainy day. In the winter season, nearby ski resorts offer well-maintained slopes and trails for downhill and cross-country skiing. Night-time skiing on lit slopes at Štrbské Pleso and in the Lopušná dolina valley has become popular in recent years. A short walk away from the pension one finds tennis courts, a sauna, ski lifts, ski and bike rentals, as well as numerous restaurants and bars. The pension's management will gladly arrange hikes with an experienced mountain guide, horseback rides, sightseeing flights over the High Tatra, as well as van transportation to nearby destinations. We are looking forward to your visit!
